ProSkin, Minneapolis has a large and rapidly growing clientele receiving Skin Tightening treatments.  The idea of how to tighten the skin is fairly simple, get enough heat into the skin and the tissues contract.  How to accomplish that with a high level of control that eliminates surface and deep tissue burns is the hard part.  This is where our FORMA and PLUS Radio Frequency technology by Invasix is so amazing.

FORMA/PLUS uses Bi-polar high level Radio Frequency to slowly and very comfortably raise the surface temperature of the skin to a controlled maximum of 109 degrees.  While the surface is warming, the radio frequency uses the water in the skin as a conduit to draw and retain higher heat in the lower skin levels.  Much like in a microwave where the food inside the container is hotter than the container surface, the lower skin tissues will hold  the heat and climb to 124 degrees.  When the lower skin reaches this level, you get controlled contraction of the tissues.  The result is very comfortable Radio Frequency heat induced skin tightening!  The majority of treatments are on the face, neck, and abdomen but any area can be safely treated.

An added benefit of the tightening treatment is new collagen growth and relaxing of existing collagen fibers.  The heat generated by the Radio Frequency tricks the body into a damage control mode.  The body sends large amounts of collagen protein as a natural healing element and produces new long lasting collagen that thickens and smooths the skin surface.  The heat also relaxes, elongates, and creates more elasticity in the existing collagen fibers that have a tendency to shorten and bundle as we age.
